Duurtlang’s comment, for the US Oppos:
I want to add that any US Oppo members could join as well, especially if they were to combine it with a longer vacation. A 2-way airline ticket is €500. I checked New York - Düsseldorf - New York, 24-27 March and got a price of €495 . New York - Paris - New York for March 24-27 and got €381 (direct connection) at Norwegian. Brussels can be done for <€500 as well.

This is going to rock!!!!!!!!

Fuuuuuu!!!! I’m 90% certain that I’ll make it but I don’t know if I have a damn car by then. Renting one under the age of 21 is expensive af.
![]() 12/24/2016 at 04:31 |

Worst case, you should be able to tag along in one of the other cars?
![]() 12/24/2016 at 05:01 |
|
Looks like I’ll do that.
![]() 12/24/2016 at 05:07 |

Can’t wait!
![]() 12/24/2016 at 05:14 |

Youre welcome to tag along in the twingo.

Man im excited for this.
![]() 12/24/2016 at 06:11 |

That’s an amazing programme right there. Not much left on my bucket list after March!
![]() 12/24/2016 at 07:01 |
|
I’ll be there!
I’m secretly hoping I could finish the LeMans by then so it could tow my racing car but if it isn’t finished, I’ll borrow some car with a hitch.
Gonna love 2017: going to GoodWood; Europpomeet, getting married and restoring a muscle car :)
![]() 12/24/2016 at 07:04 |

Sounds like an awesome year!

Tempted to bring my Elise along, won’t be able to commit for a while though, is there a deadline?
![]() 12/25/2016 at 16:01 |
|
Ooh, I do love me an Elise! I was planning to keep the registration open to at least mid-January.

Will have to pass on this occasion, I’m saving money for my wedding but if there is one in 2018 then I’m up for it.
![]() 12/28/2016 at 05:31 |
|
Ah, those pesky priorities! Nah, enjoy the wedding, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of Europpo opportunities in the future.

Good point! I’ll put in an edit.

Same. In one month I’ll know for certain if I’ll be driving my own Car or my grandfathers spare A-Class or if I carpool with Duurtlang

I’ll probably have to take a flight to Brussels and hope that someone could pick me up from there. Maybe I can organize a car but it’s unlikely.
![]() 01/04/2017 at 18:17 |
|
Ooh, Looks like I can make it now- will know by the end of the week. Would likely be flying to Brussels and renting a car.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 04:31 |
|
Thanks, it sounds like fun.
Sorry if this sounds cheap but I’m trying to spend less money this year on this sort of thing. If there’s anyone else thinking of coming from the UK who wants a lift and doesn’t mind contributing to petrol/Eurotunnel costs I’d be more tempted. I’ll be coming from Bath but can meet anywhere along the way. Would need to pack light and bring earplugs.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 12:34 |

Stupid suggestion maybe, but there seems to be a UK based oppo that is looking for a passenger to share costs with ( http://oppositelock.kinja.com/thanks-it-sounds-like-fun-sorry-if-this-sounds-cheap-1790789692 ), maybe that will be cheaper than flying and renting a car. Going by the oppo map he’s quite close to you.

I’ve posted your call in the Whatsapp group and directed the people there to your comment, so you might get a positive reply.

Be sure to check a couple of airports for the lowest fare then; Brussels, Liège and Eindhoven (for the Dutchies) should be feasible pick up locations. Not sure if there is a (sort-of) direct and affordable ICE to Liège?
![]() 01/05/2017 at 12:46 |
|
If you look into flying to Eindhoven(like Wout suggested) I’d be able to pick you up, as that is only like 40kms from my house. Eindhoven tends to be relatively cheap due to being a small airport. Dusseldorf might also be a cheap option, though I’m not sure who would be able to pick you up in that case.

Thank you #Brexit
![]() 01/05/2017 at 12:49 |

ouch, that’s a $1,300 flight for me.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 13:02 |

But you get to see The United Communist States of Europe! And a lot of Japanese cars, strangely enough.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 13:15 |

Holy crap, Coo’s a 15min drive from my place...
![]() 01/05/2017 at 13:26 |
|
Great, thank you :)
![]() 01/05/2017 at 13:28 |

I picked it for having a somewhat large parking lot, and having something nice to look at while waiting. ;)
Care to join?

I would kill to bring my 240Z to Spa, I would buy many tyres and pads for such an occasion. I’m in CA, so how about Sears Point or Laguna Seca?
![]() 01/05/2017 at 13:38 |
|
No way I can go with work, I have always had Spa as my #1 on the circuit wishlist. I’ve been to Suzuka, my two favs.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 13:38 |
|
I’d say there are enough people over there for a CA meet, so why not?
![]() 01/05/2017 at 13:40 |
|
Yeah I’m sure it’s doable, I work on shows so my schedule is usually impossible to work with, but normal people can enjoy it. I am destined to take drives alone, forever alone, or with my dog, but he seems to hate the Z with it’s loudness and stiffness.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 13:44 |
|
I take it your schedule isn’t really known in advance then? We managed to find a date that worked for all 20+ people who filled in a ‘statement of interest’, so it might be doable.
Solo drives are great therapy though.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 13:48 |
|
Yeah the show dates are known but I am not always sure which I’m on, or my boss sends me somewhere to another show because something is going on.... really anything can happen. Literally last night I thought I was going to open the San Jose auto show today, instead I am now going to install something at the Hilton on Sunday.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 14:00 |

Bummer. Enjoy your drives either way!

Two way flights from Frankfurt to Eindhoven would be 100€ with KLM and the train would cost me just a mere 39,99€ but only one-way. The ride home would be 78,99€. I’m still thinking about a rental though, Sixt wants roughly 130€ for a car for two and a halve days.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 16:07 |
|
I’d really appreciate that! Two flights from and to Eindhoven would be 100€ which is very fair IMO. Train tickets would be cheap from my hometown to Eindhoven but the ride back would be rather inconvinient and more expensive.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 16:18 |
|
That sounds quite reasonable. How was it compared to tickets to other places?
![]() 01/05/2017 at 16:39 |
|
FRA to BRU would cost the same but with Lufthansa.
I just looked up train tickets again - I’d have to take a train at 01:36am in Würzburg to arrive at 9:42 in Eindhoven and change trains about 4 times. Not sure if I’ll do that.
Also looked up flights to Eindhoven again and didn’t see that I’d have to fly via Amsterdam which would cost me 2 hours. Munich to Eindhoven would work really well but the times are wouldn’t.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 16:47 |
|
Haha that doesn’t really look like a very logical flight path, haha. You could always look into splitting your journey, take a plane to Belgium/NL and take the train back from the Nürburgring for instance.
![]() 01/05/2017 at 16:53 |
|
I’ll have to search the interwebs for possible options tommorow, though a rental sound really tempting right now. Avis has unlimited Kilometres which would come in really handy. And they’re cheap, too. Sigh
![]() 01/07/2017 at 05:36 |
|
Waterfalls ftw! haha
I’d definitely fancy tagging along, at least for the belgian part!
![]() 01/07/2017 at 05:43 |
|
Great! Be sure to fill in the form then, we need to know the number of persons and cars for Spa.
![]() 01/10/2017 at 17:53 |
|
Could be up for that if it works out for you- I’m in Hereford so could travel down and meet you. I have pencilled other plans so if anyone really needs a lift that’s fine.
![]() 01/12/2017 at 09:51 |
|
Sorry, I just saw this. My wife reminded me that we have a wedding to go to on the Saturday so I’m not able to take part in this now, sorry. If there’s another one in the future I’d love to join it.

Duurtlang’s girlfriend’s brother just moved to my town and he’ll join Europpo Meet as well so I’ll come with him. What a weird great coincidence!
